Snapshot DNA Sample Intake Assessment

A referring agency of yours is considering using the Parabon Snapshot DNA Analysis Service for their case. Please answer the following questions pertaining to the DNA sample(s) associated with the referring law enforcement agency's case.

Completion of this form implies no obligation to proceed with Snapshot analysis. The information provided is for sample assessment purposes only.

Please note: we cannot work from existing STR profiles. Snapshot analysis is based on SNP genotyping, and STR profiles do not contain the necessary genetic information for the analysis. In order to proceed with genotyping, there must be access to either extracted DNA or an original piece of evidence from which DNA can be extracted.

NOTE: This form needs to be submitted online. Printed copies cannot be accepted.

After you have submitted this DNA screening form, a Snapshot representative will review the responses and determine whether or not the sample is suitable for use with Snapshot. If the sample is found to be suitable, and the law enforcement agency provides approval to proceed with the Snapshot analysis, a sample submission form will be provided to you with all the necessary shipping instructions for submission.

For best results, please identify an extracted DNA sample that has the lowest mixture percentage, the least sample degradation, and the highest concentration.
